History:


Gurudwara Sahib Pushkar is a prominent Sikh place of worship located in Pushkar, Rajasthan, India. It holds significant religious and cultural importance for the Sikh community and attracts devotees and visitors from various parts of the country. Guru Nanak Sahib Ji visted Pushkar in 1509, and Guru Gobind Singh in 1706. Gurudwara celebrate their visit and was formerly called Guru Nank Dharamshala but it is now known as Gurudwara Sabha Pushkar.
The Gurudwara at Pushkar was inauguarte on 23rd October 2005 albeit the Kar Sewa is still continuing wherein regular Langar is served to the visitor.The place where the Guru stayed is known as Gandhi Ghat.There is a stone slab inscribed as Gobind Ghat under a Kiosk in four different languages i.e., Devanagari, Gurumukhi, Persian, and Roman. Pushkar host a grand annual fair of Kartik Purnima (the full moon night) as Pushkar Fair which is held on a large scale and the most amazing significance of this fair is that the day also celebrates the Birthday of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism Community in India. This is truly an interesting fact to note that Guru Nanak visited Pushkar to take a holy dip in Pushkar Lake on the full moon night of Kartik Purnima, on his birthday. When he visited the city to perform this ritual, he held a conference with the contemporaneous Rajput rulers to enlist their support for deliverance motherland. He is believed to have encamped at Pushkar for over a week and gave Hukumnama to Pundit Chetandar, which is still in the possession of Pundit’s descendants.The gurudwara was constructed at the beginning of the 19th century to remember the visits of both Guru Nanak Devji and Guru Govind Singhji.
This has been demolished for its renovation and reconstruction for about 5 years back and its major uniqueness is that the structure is completely built using White Marble.
